VoLTE stands for Voice over LTE. VoLTE allows you to make and receive calls using your LTE data, with your existing Red Pocket phone number.
If you've got a VoLTE capable phone, you may be able to use VoLTE with your Red Pocket service. Here are answers to some frequently asked questions about VoLTE:
Does VoLTE use my Red Pocket voice minutes and/or LTE data?
VoLTE will deduct your minutes at the same rate as regular calling, but will not deduct from your LTE data balance.
How do I know if my phone is compatible to use VoLTE on Red Pocket?
If your phone is capable of VoLTE calling, it will have the setting on it.
For Androids, this setting can typically be found in your Mobile Networks settings.
For iPhones, you will see the option in Settings > Cellular > Cellular Data Options.
For the GSMT, GSMA and CDMA network, it is can be used with all VoLTE capable phones.
For the CDMAS network, it can be used with the following phones (list updated 1/21/19):
- Samsung Galaxy S8/S8+
- LG V30+
- iPhone 8, 8+, X, Xs, Xs Max and Xr
- Apple Watch
How do I set up VoLTE on my Red Pocket account?
If you are using the GSMA, GSMT or CDMAS network, no setup is required!
If you are using the CDMA network, simply contact customer service and request to have VoLTE turned on for your account.

Once my account is updated, how do I use VoLTE?
All you have to do is enable it on your phone and set your preferences. Once enabled, whenever you have access to your LTE network, your phone can switch to VoLTE depending on your preferences.
Is WiFi calling different from VoLTE?
WiFi calling allows you to make and receive calls, and text messages, using a WiFi network, with your existing Red Pocket phone number. If you've got a phone, that has WiFi calling capabilities, then you may be able to take advantage of WiFi calling. Learn more about WiFi calling here.
