GSMA Setup
Step 1. Insert your SIM card into your phone. Click here for help with this.
Step 2. Wait up to 15 minutes for your device to acquire a signal. You should receive a text message from Red Pocket Mobile with instructions to download APN settings. Click the link in that text message, or simply go to redpocket.com/configure.
Android Steps
Complete the following steps on an Android phone, to manually configure your APN settings.
A: Open up the Settings application on your phone
B: Tap on the Mobile Network section. This section may be called Networks, Connections or Mobile Network. Don’t see any of those options? You may need to click on More first.
C: From the Mobile Network section, tap on APN.
If you have trouble tapping on the APN option, your phone may be locked to a carrier. Remember, only GSMA unlocked phones will work with our SIM cards. Click here to learn more about compatible devices.
D: Add a new APN setting. In the top right corner of your phone screen you should see Add or a + sign. Tap on the Add or + sign to start a new APN setting. Sometimes, you’ll see three dots stacked on top of each other. That icon will open up more options. Tap on it and then look for Add New.

iPhones Steps
Remember, if you have an iPhone, and you have not received your automatic APN message, visit https://www.redpocket.com/configure-handset to download the configuration profile manually.
Step 3. Place a phone call to begin the activation process. You must call another regular cell phone number. You cannot call a VoIP (Google Voice, Magic Jack, etc.) number.
Step 4. Now that your service has been setup, feel free to enable Voice over LTE calling, or place international phone calls. Click here to learn how to place international calls.

CDMA Setup
Step 1. Insert your SIM card into your phone. Click here for help with this.
Step 2. Wait up to 15 minutes for your device to acquire a network signal. You may receive a 3G signal initially. You can switch your device to 4G or 4G LTE manually.
Step 3. Place a phone call to begin the activation process. You must call another regular cell phone number. You cannot call a VoIP (Google Voice, Magic Jack, etc.) number.
Make sure Voice LTE (VoLTE) is off before you make your first phone call. Keep reading for instructions.
Disable VoLTE on Android
A. Tap on Settings
B. Tap on More
C. On some devices, you must tap on Cellular Networks. On others you will immediately see the VoLTE setting.
This setting may have different names:
- VoLTE
- Voice over LTE
- 4G Voice
- Enhanced 4G LTE Mode
Make sure to turn the feature OFF, or click the Disable button. This is only to complete the setup process. After setup is finished, you can enable VoLTE settings.
Disable VoLTE on iPhone
A. On iPhone devices, tap Settings
B. Tap on Cellular
C. Tap on Cellular Data Options
D. Tap on Voice & Data
C. Tap on Data Only
Disabling VoLTE is only necessary to complete the setup process. After setup is finished, you can enable VoLTE settings.
Step 4. During your first phone call, you will hear a recording that asks you to set your language preferences.
Step 5. After you set your network preferences, your phone call will go through and you will be connected.
Step 6. Now that your service has been setup, feel free to enable Voice over LTE calling, or place international phone calls. Click here to learn how to place international calls.

GSMT Setup

CDMAS
Step 1. If you purchased a CDMAS SIM card, insert it into your phone. Click here for help with this. Otherwise, if you activated your phone on our website, simply turn it on.
Step 2. Wait up to 15 minutes for your device to acquire a network signal.
Step 3. Place a phone call to begin the activation process. You must call another regular cell phone number. You cannot call a VoIP (Google Voice, Magic Jack, etc.) number.
If you are unable to successfully place a call, you may need to initiate hands free activation.
First turn the phone off for 10 seconds and back on again. Then, try to place your call once more. If the problem continues, initiate hands free activation manually.
How to complete Hands-Free Activation
A: Make sure device is powered on.
B: Dial ##SCRTN# (72786)
C: Device will either reboot automatically or will ask you to enter OK
D: Device will reboot and should enter Hands Free Activation within 5 Minutes.
E: Follow prompts by pressing OK during Hands Free Activation when asking for approval updating device settings.
F: Device may reboot for a second time once hands free activation has completed
G: Place a test call to Red Pocket Mobile by dialing 611
Step 4. Now that your service has been setup, feel free to enable Voice over LTE calling, or place international phone calls. Click here to learn how to place international calls.

CDMAS instructions do not include MDN/MSID information - and do not suggest opening a ticket/placing a call in the event of a failure given the specified instructions.
