Enable VoLTE settings
VoLTE allows you to place and receive calls and text messages over the 4G LTE network. By comparison, older devices used 2G or 3G networks, which have since been decommissioned. Today, all cell phones require VoLTE to work.
On most modern cell phones, VoLTE is enabled by default. However, on some devices, you may need to enable VoLTE manually to begin using your cellular service.
Is your phone VoLTE compatible?
As mentioned earlier, most modern smartphones support VoLTE. If you cannot locate the VoLTE feature within your device settings, your phone may need a software update, or it may be a 3G-only device. 3G-only devices must be replaced with a VoLTE-compatible phone.
If your phone is compatible, you can enable VoLTE by following the steps below.
Steps on Android:
-
Tap Settings on your phone.
-
Tap Network & Internet. This section may also be called Connections, Mobile Internet, or Internet, depending on your phone model.
-
Tap Call. This section may also be called Calling, Call Settings, or Phone.
-
Tap the VoLTE setting to enable it.
If you do not see any VoLTE settings, your phone is likely not VoLTE compatible and will not work. You will need to purchase a new VoLTE-compatible phone. RedPocket offers affordable, certified pre-owned Android phones and new iPhones. Visit redpocket.com/shop to explore available devices.
