Learn more about the Regulatory Recovery Fee and Administration fee.

Navigating phone bills can sometimes feel like solving a puzzle, can't it? At RedPocket, we aim to keep things as clear and simple as possible. Let's talk about some fees you might see on your bill and what they mean for you.

Why Do I See a Regulatory Recovery Fee?

You might notice a small "Regulatory Recovery Fee" charge on your bill. This fee of $1.00 per month for each line of service helps us handle the costs of following government rules and regulations. It's something most phone companies deal with, and here's why it's there:

  • Government Rules: We need to follow many regulations to provide wireless service. These rules help make sure services are safe and reliable for everyone.
  • Keeping Costs Low for You: We've worked hard to keep this fee as low as possible. It's one of the lowest in the industry. This fee goes towards the Federal Universal Service Fund, E911 services, and other telecommunications taxes and fees.

The regulatory recovery fee may be charged to all service payments to cover charges including, but not limited to:

1) Federal Universal Service Fund Fees

2) E911 or 911 Fees

3) State, County, and Local Telecommunications Taxes and Surcharges

4) Legal costs for regulatory compliance; 5) State and Local Sales Tax.

Remember, this fee is separate from the cost of your service plan. It helps us cover extra costs to continue offering great value on your wireless service.

What About Administrative Fees?

Another line item you might see is the "Administrative Fee," which is 2.50% of your wireless plan's price. This isn't a government tax but a small percentage to help us cover the costs of:

  • Fraud prevention,
  • Customer service,
  • Payment processing.

These efforts ensure we can offer our customers free and affordable cell service worldwide.
