How can I get the SSID and Wi-Fi Password of Mobile Hotspot when I use it at the first time? 

When connecting to your new Mobile Hotspot for the first time, you will need the default SSID and password that are printed on a label in the battery compartment. It is recommended that you change your SSID, Wi-Fi password, and T-Mobile Hotspot Admin password

 

How to connect my Wi-Fi enabled computer to my Mobile Hotspot?

Please follow the following troubleshooting steps:

1. On your Mobile Hotspot, remove the battery cover and battery. 
2. Write down the default SSID and password that are printed on the label in the battery compartment.
3. Replace the battery and battery cover and then power on your Mobile Hotspot
4. On your computer, open the application you use to connect via Wi-Fi.
5. Select the default SSID for your Mobile Hotspot.
6. Enter the default password.
7. Click OK. Your Mobile Hotspot’s Internet connection is now available to your connected computer.

If you do not see your SSID, your Mobile Hotspot may have gone into sleep mode. Quickly press the Power key to wake the display and then press the WPS key broadcast your SSID.

 

How to install Mobile Hotspot Admin Shortcut

If you would like to install a desktop shortcut to your  Hotspot Admin page, please follow these steps:

Install on a computer

1. Plug the small end of the USB cable into the bottom of the Mobile Hotspot and the large end into a USB port on your Wi-Fi enabled computer.
2. Power on your Mobile Hotspot.
3. Your computer recognizes the new hardware and opens a setup wizard. Follow the on-screen instructions to install.
4. When install is complete, connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi.
5. Double-click the desktop icon to access your  Hotspot Admin page.

If your system does not launch the installation automatically, navigate to My Computer > Mobile Hotspot > AutoRun.exe or double-click the drive exposed on your desktop and double-click AutoRun.exe. 

How to change SSID and Wi-Fi Password?

When you access your Hotspot Admin page at the first time, you will see the Change SSID and Password page directly. Or you can follow these steps to change them:

1. Connect your computer to your Mobile Hotspot via Wi-Fi and access your Hotspot Admin page.
2. Click Home.
3. Click Change SSID and Password.
4. Enter a new SSID and new Password.
5. Click Apply.

This change of the password used to connect other devices to your Mobile Hotspot. This does not change the password used to access your Hotspot Admin page.

 

I cannot access Wi-Fi using Mobile Hotspot for the first time, how to check it?

Please follow the following troubleshooting steps:

1. Please check Wi-Fi indicator on LED Indicator Screen, make sure Wi-Fi is active.
2. Ensure you have connected the correct SSID and input the correct password. You can get the default SSID and Password printed on a label in the battery compartment of Mobile Hotspot.
3. If still you cannot connect, please restore Mobile Hotspot to factory settings and try again.

 

How to reset to factory default settings

Resetting to factory default settings will reset your Mobile Hotspot to the default SSID and password. The default SSID and password are printed on a label in the battery compartment for your Mobile Hotspot.

There are two ways to reset to factory default settings:

Method One

• Press and hold the WPS and Power keys simultaneously.
• Hold for about three seconds or until the display and all LEDs are off.
• Release the keys. The Mobile Hotspot will restart automatically and you will see “Resetting” on the display.

Method Two

 

What if my Mobile Hotspot can not be charged.

Please ensure you are using the correct charger. And make sure your power supply is working.

 

How to connect additional Wi-Fi enabled devices

On your Wi-Fi enabled device, open the application you use to connect via Wi-Fi and select the SSID for your Mobile Hotspot. Enter the password and connect. After successful login, your Mobile Hotspot’s Internet connection is available to the connected device.

 

How to get my Mobile Hotspot’s IMEI

To locate your IMEI, please do the following:

• Access  Hotspot Admin page
• Select Settings > Advanced > Status
• Scroll down and you will see the IMEI number.

 

When does Mobile Hotspot get into Sleep Mode? How to wake up?

When you enable the Wi-Fi function and use the battery to supply power to the device, once no user connects to the device within 10 minutes or you press the WPS button, the device will enter the sleep mode, and the LED screen will be turned off. In the sleep mode, the Wi-Fi function will be disabled. Press Power or WPS button to wake up the device, and the LED screen will be turned on.

After getting into sleep mode, for considering saving power, device will automatically disconnect with network, if set device as automatic connection, it will automatically connect with network again after wake it up.

 

Under Mobile Hotspot powering on, plug charger into it for charging long, that may cause automatic powering off, why?

Under charging long with device powering on, If Mobile Hotspot is overheating, then it will automatically power off, it is a self-protection measure.

 

Why display screen on panel gets dark (no display) during using Mobile Hotspot?

During using process, if there isn’t any operation in 2 minutes, Mobile Hotspot will get into saving power mode, then the display screen will get dark ,short press Power key then it can recover to normal mode, and display screen display normally.

 

My Mobile Hotspot cannot search for SSID, what should I do?

If you encounter this problem, please try to manually restore factory settings.

 

I awake Mobile Hotspot from standby status, but sometimes it can’t connect to 4G network. What should I do?

Please power off the  ZTE MF61, and then power on it. Then it will connect to network automatically.
