How to send picture messages?

Sending picture messages, also known as MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) or media sharing via messaging apps, is a simple process on both Android and iPhone. Whether you’re sharing memories with friends or sending important images, here’s how you can do it.

Sending Picture Messages on Android

  1. Using the Messages App (MMS)

    • Open the Messages app.
    • Tap the + (compose new message) button or select an existing conversation.
    • Tap the attachment (paperclip or image icon).
    • Choose Gallery or Camera to select or capture an image.
    • Tap Send to deliver the picture message.
  2. Using Other Messaging Apps (WhatsApp, Messenger, etc.)

You may need to use other messaging applications when roaming to countries where data access is supported, but text is not.

    • Download WhatsApp or Facebook Messenger from the Google Play Store.
    • Open the messaging app of your choice.
    • Select a contact or conversation.
    • Tap the photo or attachment icon.
    • Choose an existing picture or take a new one.
    • Send the image instantly over the internet.

Note: If your MMS messages aren't sending, ensure mobile data is enabled, as MMS requires an internet connection via your carrier.

Sending Picture Messages on iPhone

  1. Using iMessage (Apple Users)

    • Open the Messages app.
    • Select a contact using iMessage (blue bubbles).
    • Tap the camera icon to take a new picture or the Photos app icon to choose an image.
    • Press Send to share the picture.
  2. Using MMS (Non-iMessage Contacts)

    • Follow the same steps as iMessage. If the recipient isn’t using iMessage (green bubbles), your message will be sent as MMS.
    • Ensure MMS Messaging is enabled under Settings > Messages if needed.
  3. Using Third-Party Apps

    • Open an app like WhatsApp, Facebook Messenger, or Instagram.
    • Tap the photo icon, select or take a picture, and send.

Something wrong? Complete these troubleshooting steps.

  • Ensure Wi-Fi or mobile data is turned on for iMessage and Airplane mode is turned OFF.
  • If MMS isn’t working, check that it’s enabled under Settings > Messages > MMS Messaging and that your carrier supports it.

By following these steps, you can easily send picture messages on both Android and iPhone. If you encounter any issues, checking your internet connection and messaging settings should help resolve them.
