Update your phone's software
A software update can improve your phone’s performance and features, while also fixing known bugs and addressing security issues identified by the device manufacturer or your wireless carrier.
Update your Android phone's operating system
As a precaution, back up your device's data while your phone is charging—it's best to complete a backup and the software update while your device is plugged in and charging.

On your phone, tap Settings.

Tap on About Phone.

Tap on Check Updates

Wait to see if you have any available software updates for your phone (if not, you'll see a message that lets you know your phone is up to date).

Download and install any available updates.
