What is GSMT?
GSMT is one of RedPocket Mobile’s wireless network options. GSMT plans work with GSM-unlocked and T-Mobile-compatible devices, meaning the phone uses a SIM card and is not restricted to a single carrier.
Only GSM devices work
RedPocket services work exclusively with GSM-compatible phones. Some devices, such as certain older Verizon models, are CDMA-only. Verizon began offering GSM-compatible phones around 2010, so compatibility depends on the specific model. If you have a more recent phone, you're good to go.
Sprint phones are not supported. Even if unlocked, Sprint devices do not use SIM cards, and the Sprint network has been fully decommissioned.
How to check and see if your phone is a GSM device
Look for a SIM card slot, usually located on the side, top, or bottom of the phone, or underneath the phone's battery after removing the back cover.
Apple iPhone models 14 and newer are eSIM-only. While these devices are GSM-compatible, they do not have a physical SIM card slot.
Check your phone’s user manual or search online for your specific model’s SIM compatibility. If you’re still unsure, contact support for help confirming compatibility. Additionally, please keep in mind that the phone must be unlocked
