Insert your SIM card into your phone

Where to find your SIM card slot

Most phones accept a SIM card in one of two ways. Look around the edges of your phone for a SIM card tray, or remove the back cover and battery to check for a SIM slot underneath.

How to insert your SIM card

Before you begin, turn your phone OFF.

Option 1: SIM card tray
Check the top, bottom, or sides of your phone for a small SIM card tray. If you find one, insert the SIM eject tool that came with your phone (or a paperclip) into the small hole to release the tray. Place the SIM card into the tray, then slide it back into the phone.

Option 2: Under the battery
If your phone does not have a SIM card tray, the SIM slot is likely under the battery. Remove the back cover and take out the battery. Insert the SIM card into the slot, then replace the battery and back cover.

Once the SIM card is inserted, turn your phone back on. After a few minutes, you should receive a text message with instructions to complete your APN configuration.

Complete your APN configuration

APN (Access Point Name) settings allow your phone to connect to the mobile network.

In most cases, APN settings are configured automatically. If you do not have an internet connection within 10 minutes of inserting your SIM card, you may need to configure the APN manually.
