Yes, you can port in your existing number from any major wireless carrier in the USA. You can even convert your landline or VoIP number (such as Google Voice) to Red Pocket Mobile!
GSM-A and GSM-T
After you have obtained your Red Pocket Mobile SIM, visit GoRedPocket.com/activate and select GSMA or GSMT. Then check the box that says "Would you like to port your existing wireless number?" This will open up the port in request form. Please fill out this form as completely and correctly as possible.
CDMA-S and CDMA
After you have obtained your eligible Red Pocket CDMA Device, visit GoRedPocket.com/activate and select CDMA. Then check the box that says "Would you like to port your existing wireless number?" This will open up the port in request form. Please fill out this form as completely and correctly as possible.
If all the information that you provide is accepted by your Old Service Provider, the port in process can take from just a few minutes to a few hours. However, porting in a landline number can take about 14 working days.
Note that prepaid wireless accounts all have Account Numbers and Passwords, even if you don't know them. If in doubt, please contact your current wireless provider and request your Account Number and Password to ensure a smooth port-in process.
We look forward to welcoming you to Red Pocket Mobile!

Beware, the line "Yes, you can port in your existing number from any major wireless carrier in the USA." is not completely true. I tried to port a number from Verizon CDMA postpaid to RedPocket CDMA, and was told it was not possible due to a "carrier agreement". I would have to first port to GSMA or GSMT (on a phone that was not fully compatible with either) and then change the line over to CDMAV. Customer service said they would update the website with this information, which has not been done as of 2019/04/23.
Wound up getting a refund. I wouldn't recommend doing business with any company that is not upfront about everything.
No word if it is possible to port AFTER activating SIM card
You need a new sim card to port your number. You can't port to an active sim card.
August I activated a CDMA annual plan without porting. The assigned number has an prefix uncommon to my area so I asked if I could change the number. They replied that I could 30 days after the activation date. In September I asked if I could port a number from another carrier and lose the number Red Pocket provided during activation. The reply was once activated the number could not be changed on a CDMA SIM. I asked if I purchased a new SIM and ported in during activation could the balance of my account be applied to the new SIM. They replied that it could not. I asked that should I misplace my phone would I just lose the remaining 11 months paid for. The reply was the number I have now would be transferred (ported?) to a new SIM. I'm left to think Red Pocket is capable of doing what I ask, but is unwilling.
