Phone hotspot not working? Can't connect?
Before troubleshooting, confirm that both your plan and your device support mobile hotspot.
Device compatibility
First, confirm that your device supports mobile hotspot. Some devices—typically older models—do not support hotspot functionality. Check your device manufacturer’s user guide to be sure.
Hotspot availability may also vary depending on the RedPocket Mobile network you’re using:
-
On the CDMA network, hotspot is supported on most iOS devices. Hotspot is currently unavailable on Android devices.
-
On GSMA and GSMT networks, hotspot is supported on both iOS and Android devices.
Note: You can switch between supported networks using RedPocket’s CoverageGenius℠ feature. Learn more.
Plan compatibility
Only Premium and Legacy Elite plans include a dedicated hotspot data allowance. Once your hotspot data balance is used, you’ll need to purchase a hotspot data add-on to continue using hotspot. Be sure to check your account to confirm you have available hotspot data.
You can change your plan at any time by logging into your account at redpocket.com/my-lines.
Are your APN settings configured?
After confirming that your device supports hotspot, make sure the correct APN network settings are in place. Visit redpocket.com/configure for step-by-step instructions.

Is hotspot fully enabled on your account?
