What are the steps to setting up my Android phone?

1. Initial Setup: Insert the SIM card into your phone and turn on the device. You should receive an automatic text message shortly after powering on to initiate the APN (access point name) setup. Your device typically connects to the network within 15 minutes.

2. Manual APN Configuration (if needed):
  • Step 1: Connect your phone to a WiFi network.
  • Step 2: Navigate to the "Settings" application on your phone.
  • Step 3: Look for the "Mobile Network" section. This could also be labeled "Networks," "Connections," or just "Mobile Network." If none of these options are immediately visible, you might find them under "More."
  • Step 4: Within "Mobile Network," select "APN."
*Note: Your phone might be carrier-locked if you can't access the "APN" option. Only unlocked GSMA phones are compatible with our SIM cards. For more about device compatibility, click here.
  • Step 5: Add a new APN setting. At the top right, you should spot either "Add" or a "+" symbol. Tap on this to begin entering a new APN setting. If instead you see three vertical dots, tap on them to reveal more options, then select "Add New."

Step 6: Enable VoLTE: Return to your settings's "Mobile Networks" section. From there, locate and select "VoLTE." Ensure that you toggle or checkmark this feature to activate it.

Step 7: Make Your First Call: Don't skip this essential step! You must place a phone call to complete the setup process and activate your calling and texting capabilities.

Additional Step: Remember to set up your voicemail inbox to ensure you don't miss any important messages. If you need guidance on this, click here.

The VoLTE feature is required for calling and texting to work over the LTE (4G LTE and 5G) networks. As a result of the 3G shutdown, only VoLTE-capable phones will remain.  Click here to learn more about VoLTE and the 3G shutdown.
